The Procurement Intern will help design and implement standardized processes and data inputs for category and subcategory identifiers at new part introduction (NPI), and to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) definitions, measurement standards, and processes across Vontier Factories. The intern will work closely with regional procurement leaders, IT leaders, and global category owners to document requirements, build data models/templates, and pilot recommended standards.- This is a remote position, however, being local to the Greensboro, NC Area is preferred
- Design NPI & part maintenance workflows related to part categorization across all Vontier Procurement factories.
- Define category/subcategory required data fields for new part introduction (NPI).
- Establish clear KPI definitions, calculation methods, targets, and data sources for key procurement/category performance measures (e.g., on-time delivery, cost variance, quality metrics, supplier lead time) across all Vontier Procurement factories.
- Create data templates, validation rules, and governance recommendations to ensure consistent inputs across regions.
- Collaborate with Vontier IT team, regional procurement leads and global category managers to align standards and gather feedback.
- Prepare process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for roll-out.
- Support a pilot implementation and capture feedback/metrics for refinement.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at the end of the internship.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Interest in procurement, supply chain, and process improvement.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or SQL is a plus.
- Intern candidates must be eligible to work within the U.S. currently and in the future.
