Position Description
Position Title: Part-time Building Maintenance Custodian
Department: ICC-Maintenance
Reports To: FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Purpose:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the functionality, cleanliness, and safety of the buildings accessed by the public, including rental spaces. This role includes coordinating with Maintenance team on repairs and maintenance, and custodial duties to ensure that all areas are well-maintained, clean, and guest-ready at all times.
Essential Job Functions:
- Repair and maintain doors, windows, flooring, ceilings, and other facility structures.
- Perform minor repairs as needed.
- Coordinate with maintenance team on any repairs and/or maintenance work that needs to be completed.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables properly and ensure waste management compliance.
- Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, and entryways.
- Respond to spills, leaks, or urgent cleaning needs promptly.
- Assist in setting up rooms for meetings and events.
- Ensure rental spaces are fully cleaned, stocked, and prepared for guests.
- Inspect rental units for damages and report necessary repairs.
- Ensure furniture, appliances, and amenities are in proper working order.
- Provide quick response to urgent maintenance requests from guests.
- Maintain high standards to enhance the guest experience.
- Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- May be required to assist with special events and other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
- On occasion, it will be necessary to support other staff members with their efforts. This is a team environment, and all are expected to participate in operational challenges.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Availability for emergency call-in during off hours for repairs as needed.

- Each employee is expected to comply with the dress code
Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write and communicate at a level that enables the individual to perform essential functions.
- Maintain a valid PA driver’s license at all times; annual verification must be provided and must be able to operate a utility cart, pick-up truck, and one ton dump truck (non CDL).
- A CDL license is not required, but please notify us if you have one.
Physical Requirements:
- Good vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
- Significant walking or other means of mobility.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Position is physically demanding and includes indoor and outdoor activity with exposure to inclement weather conditions, requires the ability to lift and support up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work at various heights.
