Machinist Trainee Program

Start your machining career with Ebara Elliott Energy!

This is a hands-on 18-month training program designed to develop future machinists through real shop experience and technical education. Trainees rotate through three machining areas while completing a 3-part online training program through Penn Foster.

Shop Rotations

• Manual Machining
• Large Product Machining
• 5 Axis & EDMs

Hands-On Skills

• CNC and manual machining
• Blueprint reading and precision measuring
• Machine setup, tooling, and program adjustments
• Material handling (cranes, hoists, forklifts)
• Multi-axis machining, EDM, milling, and turning

What You'll Do

• Work from drawings, work orders, and supervisor instruction
• Set up and operate machining equipment
• Measure, deburr, polish, and finish parts
• Assist with CNC program edits and machine adjustments
• Maintain safety, quality, and housekeeping standards

Qualifications Machinist Trainee Candidates

• Training program is developed to meet company certification requirements for production roles
• Must complete both hands-on shop training and online testing
• Formal training includes correspondence-style coursework with graded exams
• Trainees who successfully complete the program will be considered certified to company production standards
• This is an 18-month structured training program
• Must be available to work all shifts and overtime, including weekends and holidays
