Job Title: Kindergarten Teacher

Employment Status: Full-time; 10-month
FLSA Status: Salary

Essential Functions
The Kindergarten Teacher will create a warm and welcoming school culture that is driven by student achievement, growth, and commitment to students in an urban environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement Universal’s curriculum and instructional strategies and utilize classroom routines and procedures with consistency.
- Develop rigorous lesson plans, homework assignments and assessments.
- Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data and use data to inform instruction.
- Collaborate in grade level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student mastery of standards.
- Form and maintain relationships with students’ families, including phone calls and conferences.
- Participate in on-going professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement.
- Perform related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Valid PA Certification
Bachelor’s degree

- Ability to adjust instructional strategies in order to reach year-end goals.

- A belief that all students should be held to high standards.
- A positive attitude and a drive for personal excellence
- Outstanding instructional skills, including the ability to motivate and challenge students and maintain an orderly classroom.
- Demonstrates commitment to Universal’s mission and success.
- Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
- Participates in training and professional development activities.
- Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating with peers.
- Abides by applicable Universal Companies policies and procedures and state and federal education regulations.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
