Pay Rate: $11–$12 per hour (Due to Overtime Included)
Hours: 56 hours per week
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM

About the Case

October Home Care is urgently hiring a dependable and compassionate caregiver to assist a male participant located in Stroudsburg, PA .

The participant is legally blind and has a spinal injury , though he remains mobile and can perform some tasks independently. He requires consistent support with personal care , meal preparation , light housekeeping , and daily home management .

This participant receives services under the Act 150 Program , and Adult Protective Services (APS) is currently involved to ensure the home environment remains safe and sanitary. We are seeking a patient, understanding, and professional caregiver who can provide respectful support, even when the participant may become frustrated.

Schedule & Hours

• Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM
• Total Weekly Hours: 56 hours
• Start Date: Immediate / within one week

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance with hygiene, bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Prepare daily meals, assist with serving, and clean up after meals.
• Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe living space.
• Handle laundry, changing bed linens, and taking out trash as needed.
• Assist with errands, grocery shopping , and accompanying to medical appointments .
• Offer companionship, conversation, and emotional support to improve quality of life.
• Report any health, behavioral, or environmental concerns to October Home Care immediately.
• Maintain professional boundaries, appearance, and communication at all times.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must pass a PA State Background Check , FBI Fingerprint Clearance , and ChildLine Clearance (if applicable)
• Must have a current physical and TB test (within the past 12 months)
• Must provide valid photo ID and Social Security card
• Must complete basic competency test (Math, Reading, Writing)
• Must complete all OLTL mandatory trainings , including:
• Participant Rights
• HIPAA & Confidentiality
• Fire Safety & Emergency Procedures
• Infection Control
• Incident Management
• Abuse & Neglect Prevention
• Must be dependable, professional, and punctual ( scrubs required for all shifts )

Preferred Qualities

• Patient and calm under pressure
• Experience working with individuals who are visually impaired or mobility-limited
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professionalism in all situations
