At Sibanye-Stillwater, every role supports our mission to operate safely, responsibly, and sustainably. We are seeking a Security Officer to support the safety and security of our refinery facility through active monitoring, access control, surveillance systems, and incident response.

This role focuses on maintaining a secure environment through facility patrols, visitor management, and monitoring security systems while ensuring compliance with company security protocols and regulatory requirements.

Job Purpose
To maintain a safe and secure facility through active patrol, strict access control, monitoring surveillance systems, verifying visitors, and responding to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate facility security and surveillance systems
• Conduct active patrols and building inspections
• Maintain strict access control at facility entry points
• Monitor video surveillance and recording systems
• Operate security equipment including metal detectors, handheld scanners, and X-ray machines
• Respond to alarms including fire and burglar systems
• Support visitor access control and escort visitors when required
• Communicate using telephone and two way radio systems
• Prepare written incident reports and maintain security documentation
• Support security operations that ensure safe facility access and operations

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prior military or law enforcement experience preferred
• Ability to function effectively as part of a team
• Strong communication and observation skills
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel

Compliance and Physical Requirements

• Must meet ITAR and NAID requirements
• Ability to pass background and credit check
• Ability to pass drug screening and physical examination
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during a shift
• Ability to bend, search persons and packages, and lift up to 50 lbs when required

Schedule and Benefits

• Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM
