Food Safety & Compliance Manager
Job Description
Job Description
Meet Jordan (fictional Food Safety & Compliance Manager)
Jordan walks into the facility already scanning the floor — not just for issues, but for opportunities. One eye on the data, one on the process, and both hands ready to support the team. Jordan isn’t policing food safety… they’re elevating it. They ask great questions, coach others, and turn risks into improvements before anyone else sees them.
Now we need another Jordan.
Maybe it’s you.
You’ll serve as a key resource supporting food safety, quality, customer requirements, and compliance activities across all Dieffenbach’s locations, while maintaining a primary day-to-day focus on our Chambersburg facility. In this role, you will play a key role in our food safety programs, documentation integrity, customer support, regulatory and certification compliance, and audit readiness. This position blends hands-on verification with cross-functional collaboration, coaching, continuous improvement, and problem-solving... all while helping ensure we consistently meet customer expectations while strengthening Dieffenbach’s culture of accountability, ownership, and excellence.
Lead Food SafetyMaintain and support HACCP, Preventive Controls, GMPs, allergen control, and environmental monitoring programs.
Keep us fully compliant with FDA, BRC, GFSI, and customer standards.
Conduct internal audits, traceability checks, and mock recalls with confidence and calm.
Keep documentation clean, accurate, and always audit-ready.
Provide oversight and support to QA Technicians — verify, guide, and help them shine.
Train associates on GMPs, allergen control, and documentation best practices.
Jump in with Operations, PD, Maintenance, and Warehouse to solve problems before they grow.
Communicate trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
Review daily/weekly/monthly food safety and quality records.
Track and trend data to identify risks, close gaps, and support corrective actions.
Support customer complaint investigations and help identify root causes.
Keep calibration, logs, and evidence files accurate and up to date.
Love digging into data, trends, and the “why.”
Stay calm, organized, and detail-focused in a fast-paced environment.
Communicate clearly and build strong partnerships across teams.
Know food safety programs (HACCP, GMPs, PCQI, GFSI/BRC) and enjoy putting them into action.
Have experience in food manufacturing and want to grow your FSQA leadership career.
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or similar — or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of QA or Food Safety experience in a food manufacturing environment.
