Concrete Laborer
Warfel Construction Company is currently seeking a skilled and reliable Concrete Laborer to join our team. A concrete laborer performs a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of teammates on a construction jobsite. This position requires strict adherence to all Warfel safety rules and regulations, including any site-specific necessities.
A concrete laborer will perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of coworkers on a construction jobsite.
Requirements
Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Measuring distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch lines tight.
- Loading and unloading material from trucks.
- Mixing concrete, as necessary, with hand tools or by using portable mixer.
- Mix, pour, spread, and level concrete for slabs, sidewalks, curbs, walls, and other structures.
- Operate equipment such as power screeds, trowels, and saws.
- May be required to operate hand and power tools as well as operator company equipment and vehicles.
- The ability to supply basic tools required for the position (such as toolbox, hammer, nail bag, etc.) A full list will be provided.
- Needs to have a commitment to safety and keeping the work area neat and clean, including general housekeeping items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Position spends 100% of the time on an active construction site. Will need to move frequently throughout a construction jobsite with uneven terrain and in inclement weather.
- Frequent need to lift or move heavy materials up to 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver and operate equipment occurs occasionally.
- Working at heights will vary between 5' to 100' + above the ground, as well as working with various pieces of equipment that will provide protection at such heights: ladders. scaffolds, aerial man lifts, and personal fall protection.
- Climbing up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects in multi-story buildings while carrying tools and equipment may occur occasionally.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school or equivalent, technical school or college experience.
- Ability to use and read a tape measure with precise standards and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of prints, sketches, and blueprints.
- Excellent communication, organization and people skills, with proven success working in team environments.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision.
