As a buyer at JADCO, you will strategically manage inventory and suppliers under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager to ensure the right materials are available at the right time. The ideal candidate will have experience in a steel service center, fabrication and/or machining environment.

What will I do?

• Be responsible for purchasing materials, services and hardware required for jobs, stock, MRO and janitorial needs.
• Review material planning reports to determine ordering needs for stock items and working with Materials Manager as orders are entered.
• Purchase items according to JADCO processes, regulatory requirements, and mandated quality system registrations (ISO 9001, ASME standards).
• Contact vendors to check order status, request expediting, inspection reports, and material certifications.
• Read shop drawings to order appropriate services, material, and hardware.
• Work with production and maintenance leadership to ensure tools and materials being ordered are correct, timely, and cost-effective.
• Monitor supplier delivery and quality performance.
• Assist in reviewing and resolving supplier delivery and performance issues.
• Keep up to date with the latest purchasing techniques.

You're a great fit if you have:

• 2+ years purchasing experience in steel or manufacturing preferred.
• BS degree or business degree preferred.
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
• Detail/Shop drawing knowledge.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain focus in fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong planning and project management skills.
• Solid organizational skills and self-motivation to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels within JADCO and at vendors.
