Job Description
The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs CNC and manual machining centers while supporting general facility maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The technician reads and interprets machine manuals, schematics, and blueprints, and works both independently and in collaboration with production teams to minimize downtime. The regular shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot CNC and manual machining equipment to ensure reliable operation.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and facility systems to reduce unexpected breakdowns.
- Respond to and execute emergency repairs on production equipment and facility systems to restore functionality quickly.
- Read and interpret machine manuals, electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to support maintenance activities and verify equipment tolerances.
- Operate shop equipment including overhead cranes, grinders, and a variety of hand tools in a safe and effective manner.
- Maintain safe working conditions by following all safety protocols, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Collaborate with production teams and other maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous operations.
- Work independently to plan and complete maintenance tasks while prioritizing workload based on equipment needs.
- Perform general facility maintenance tasks as required to support a clean, organized, and efficient industrial machine shop environment.
Essential Skills
- Previous industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills for complex machinery and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with CNC equipment and machining centers, including maintenance and repair activities.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, including three-phase power and PLC troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to safely operate cranes and general shop equipment including grinders and hand tools.
- Capability to perform maintenance repair, preventive maintenance, and service tasks on a variety of equipment.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate work with production and maintenance teams.
- Ability to work overtime as needed to support production schedules and urgent maintenance needs.
- Must be able to supply and use basic personal hand tools required for daily maintenance work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced industrial machine shop environment supporting production equipment.
- Experience in CNC maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of machining centers.
- Knowledge of maintenance best practices focused on equipment reliability and preventative maintenance.
- Comfort working with a combination of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Service-oriented mindset with the ability to respond quickly to maintenance requests.
- Teamwork skills that support a collaborative, production-focused environment.
- Ability to interpret and work from detailed technical documentation and machine manuals.

Work Environment
