DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this role, your responsibilities will involve creating plans, details, and sections for civil and mining projects, construction contracts, reports, and rights-of-way acquisitions of varying complexity and scope. Additionally, you will oversee abandoned mine projects, including tasks such as backfilling or sealing abandoned mine openings, excavating or isolating underground mine fires or coal refuse pile fires, installing mine drainage control structures, demolishing abandoned mine buildings, stabilizing subsidence prone areas, and addressing issues related to abandoned coal mining operations, acid mine drainage, wetland restoration, and mitigation. You may also be involved in the replacement or treatment of individual water supplies affected by past coal mining activities. Interested in learning more?   • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Ebensburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Drafter; or
  • Two years of experience as an Environmental Engineering Technician, which includes a minimum of one year of engineering, architectural or survey drafting work, including or supplemented by six months of CADD experience or training; or
  • Two years of experience in engineering, architectural or survey drafting work, including or supplemented by six months of CADD experience or training, and an Associate's Degree in the field of engineering technology or Computer Aided Drafting and Design; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and/or training, including or supplemented by six months of CADD experience or training.
