PRIMARY PURPOSE


To perform general facilities maintenance functions and works to support all facilities maintenance groups that can include building maintenance, lift shop, and sanitation. Complete tasks and responsibilities to support the overall needs and operations of the distribution center.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform basic functions for building maintenance, lift shop, and sanitation as assigned

(i.e. checking fire extinguishers, water batteries, make parts runs, etc.)

• Assist and support the Maintenance Department Mechanics and Technicians in performing work orders
• Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or

center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs

• Any other duties as assigned by management
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent customer service, communication, verbal and written skills.
• Must use all required equipment (i.e. power washing, mowing, etc...)
• Ability to meet production standards set by the company.
• Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
• Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties.
• Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
• Able to use a personal computer for data entry and research purposes.
• Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple task in a fast paced environment
• Ability to analyze situations, identify problems and implement solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance related information such as blue prints, diagrams, formulas etc.
• Ability to use required tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 80 lbs. repetitively.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• High School Education
• Certified on industrial equipment (pallet jack, stand up and sit down forklifts)
• Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment
• Must possess basic aptitude regarding general maintenance functions
