Managing Editor
- Supervise staff and freelance writers to ensure timely, high-quality content for weekly print and daily digital platforms
- Proof and edit stories for clarity, grammar, accuracy, and adherence to AP Style and house standards
- Fact-check content, including verifying accuracy of photography and video
- Manage editorial workflow to meet production deadlines
- Support technical needs related to digital publishing, including troubleshooting minor issues
- Serve as a mentor to staff writers, guiding their professional growth and performance
- 3–5 years of experience in community journalism, including editorial management
- Strong editing and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of writers
- Experience working in deadline-driven environments
