ENGEL Machinery North America has a job opportunity for a North American Key Account Manager (“KAM”), Medical & Packaging with consideration being given to qualified candidates throughout the U.S. This is a Remote position; however, the ideal candidate will be based in Southern California, Arizona or Utah.
Reporting to the Vice President of Medical & Packaging, Americas, the North American Key Account Manager (KAM) that will maintain and expand relationships with strategically important customers. This role requires the ability to manage complex accounts and capital equipment sales processes from day one, focusing on both medical and packaging sectors without geographic limitations. The KAM will be responsible for achieving sales quotas, building robust customer relationships, leveraging team-selling strategies, and utilizing SalesForce CRM to track and manage the entire sales cycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Immediate Account Impact:
- Take ownership of large, complex accounts, ensuring detailed oversight of capital equipment sales within the medical and packaging industries.
- Strategic Account Management:
- Manage accounts nationally while keeping a global perspective to meet and exceed strategic sales objectives.
- Develop standard and budgetary quotes for current and prospective customers, ensuring high-level detail and organizational focus.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager between customers and the company, strengthening and building long-term partnerships.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with regional sales leaders, inside sales support, engineering, and various management levels to establish budgets and account development plans for strategic accounts.
- Engage in active team-selling, collaborating with internal stakeholders to craft value-driven solutions for customers.
- New Business Development & Market Analysis:
- Drive new account development and secure new business opportunities, proactively pursuing leads in a variety of geographical territories.
- Analyze assigned markets to determine the value of existing and prospective customers, prioritizing accounts in collaboration with the VP Medical & Packaging, Americas and the Vice President Global Medical & Packaging.
- Account Planning & Execution:
- Use SalesForce CRM to manage the sales pipeline, forecast accurately, and inform data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with local Account Managers and Business Unit Managers to establish budgets and account development plans aligned with strategic objectives.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
Experience:
- Preferred minimum of 3 years of injection molding machinery sales in medical & packaging or a related industry.
- Proven ability to handle complex, large-scale accounts and navigate sophisticated capital equipment sales cycles.
- Mechanical engineering and/or mold design background a plus
- International sales experience a plus
- Multi-lingual a plus, but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Fluent in CRM systems and IT (i.e., SalesForce, MS 365 / Teams, and AI)
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50-75% of the time
