Job Title: Surveyor I
Division: FiOptix Inc
FSLA Status : Non-Exempt
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Job Summary: This position is responsible for conducting site surveys and audits to ensure the successful design and build of a project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform site surveys and audits
- Create and present site survey and audit data
- Use equipment and tools to accurately measure land features
- Build maps, sketches, charts, and other prepare other project information, such as address listings, bill of materials, pictures, and cost estimates
- Identify network and review proposed methods of construction to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements
- Identify issues or obstacles preventing a successful network installation
- Collaborate with internal staff on project scope and progress
- Resolve customer issues accurately and timely
- Review project schedules and maintain material tracking data
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education
Experience:
- Three years’ experience utilizing AutoCAD, and/or Focus, Bentley, Bluebeam PDF writer, or Vision
- Experience interpreting CATV and construction blueprints and as-builds
- Experience using a spatial information system
- Experience in a customer interfacing or project coordination role
Technical Skills:
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to operate a laser range finder and measuring wheels
- Ability to use a wireless tablet
Soft Skills:
- Highly organized and detail orientated
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to think analytically, and apply sound judgment, and complex solve problems
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
