Certified School Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified School Nurse (CSN) to join a supportive school district in Stroudsburg, PA. The Certified School Nurse plays a vital role in promoting student health, safety, and wellness, ensuring that all students are ready to learn in a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing services and emergency care to students and staff during the school day

• Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with chronic or acute health needs

• Administer medications and perform medical procedures as prescribed (including diabetic care, G-tube feedings, seizure management, etc.)

• Maintain accurate health records and documentation per state and district guidelines

• Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, BMI, scoliosis, etc.) and maintain required reports

• Monitor student immunization compliance in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations

• Act as a liaison between home, school, and healthcare providers to support continuity of care

• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and administrators to support student wellness and attendance initiatives

• Educate students and staff on health topics, including hygiene, nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention

• Respond to school health emergencies and participate in safety and crisis planning

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania RN license (Registered Nurse)

• Pennsylvania Department of Education School Nurse Certification (required or in progress)

• Current CPR and First Aid certification

• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills

• Experience in pediatric, community health, or school nursing preferred
