A vacancy exists for a Revenue Services Specialist within the Office of Business Services for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit . The Revenue Services Specialist provides accounting support services.
Qualifications:
- No post-secondary degree required; Associates/BS Degree in general field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in any specialized area required as part of the job functions
Expertise (includes one or more of the following):
Professional approach to their work that includes very strong customer service skills.
Strong Technology skills, including extensive use of Microsoft applications as well as MCIU software.
Specialized skills in area to be able to work autonomously as proven through work experience.
Experience in school accounting preferred.
Experience in non-profit environment preferred.
Knowledge of governmental accounting standards.
Ability to use technology to gain information and communicate with others.
Ability to work in a team environment and to work effectively with people.
Ability to work under stress and with frequent interruptions.
Ability to schedule time to meet deadlines, to communicate effectively, and to read and analyze written and verbal information.
Valid Driver's License, with a safe driving record without major traffic violations
Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI
Job Responsibilities :
Accounts Receivable Support
Assist in the invoicing of all MCIU services to external clients. Prepare invoices for client service billing, based on data provided by the various MCIU Offices
Prepare daily deposit by matching checks/funds received to invoices and entering receipts into the SunGard eFinancePlus system. Work with various Office staff to ensure proper registration information is shared.
Coordinate collection efforts for past due payments from clients; prepare and mail past due statements for client services.
File the Quarterly Cash on Hand reports with the PA Department of Education.
Process the monthly Promise billing for services delivered to the 0-3 students by the Office of Student Services.
Prepare and submit various grant funding drawdown requests, including but not limited to specialized grants received from the US Department of Education, PA Department of Education, etc.
Flow Thru Funds Support
Calculate and prepare monthly statements for all MCIU flow thru funds to school districts & charter schools, including but not limited to: IDEA/Section 611, IDEA/Section 619 and Title III.
Annually gather necessary documentation for IDEA programs management, including but not limited to: Annual audit reports from local school districts, annual policy & procedure sign-offs, and subcontract agreements/budget documents.
Review and process for payment flow thru funds payment requests from local school districts and charter schools.
Accounting Support
Update cost information in ATRC database and monthly reconcile ATRC Membership funds.
Prepare and enter data necessary for quarterly Medicaid Cost Reporting and annual Medicaid Cost Settlement reports.
Review employee travel reimbursement requests.
Maintain detailed ledger and process payments for the MCIU Activities Account.
Maintain detailed ledger and process payments for the MCIU Education Foundation.
Maintain detailed ledger in QuickBooks and process payments for ExplorationsPHP, Inc. Track client invoicing to Magellan and bill school districts, as necessary.
Other
Makes recommendations and provides information/data to supervisor and other administrators for necessary changes within area of responsibility.
Actively model the mission, values, and operating principles of the MCIU.
Serve as a back-up to other staff members, as needed. Including, but not limited to accounts payable activities, receptionist duties, etc.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Business Services Administrative team.
Location:
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7 hours/day, 12 months (260-261 days/year)
Salary:
$27.41/hour - $32.25/hour (PS2)
