Job Description

Mater Dei Catholic School, a thriving PreK3 through Grade 8 community rooted in the hallmarks of Faith, Excellence, Service, and Community , is seeking a talented and passionate full-time Music Teacher to begin immediately. This is a unique opportunity to lead a vibrant music program that inspires students, enriches school liturgies, and builds a lifelong love of the arts.

Position Highlights

• Weekly Instruction: Teach engaging music classes for all students, PreK3 through Grade 8, that foster creativity, performance skills, and music appreciation.
• Liturgical Leadership: Prepare and accompany student cantors for school liturgies, prayer services, and special events.
• Concerts & Performances: Direct two student choirs and two chime groups, showcasing their talents at annual Christmas and Spring concerts as well as other school events.
• Musical Theater Direction: Lead and direct the annual Spring Musical for Grades 5–8, giving students the chance to shine on stage.
• Faith and Community Integration: Use music to enhance our Catholic identity and strengthen our joyful, faith-filled school culture.

Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have strong vocal and/or instrumental skills with the ability to teach general music and prepare students for performance.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills for coordinating concerts, ensembles, and school-wide music events.
• Collaborate closely with faculty, administration, and parish staff to ensure a vibrant and cohesive music program.
• Embrace the mission of Catholic education and model the values of faith, respect, and service.
• Bring energy and enthusiasm to engaging students of all ages, from preschool to middle school.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field.
• Pennsylvania Instructional Certification in Music (or eligibility to obtain).
• Experience directing choirs, ensembles, and theater productions preferred.
• Prior experience in Catholic or faith-based schools is a plus, but not required.
