Technical director

Friendship Community Church in Dover is seeking someone who is called and led by the Holy Spirit to oversee the technical ministry. Such a person also demonstrates love, prioritizes others ahead of self, and fosters trust in leadership. All staff persons at Friendship must be willing to become members of this congregation.

The Technical Director must be a servant leader who is also able to take charge of a ministry area. The ideal candidate will have some advanced computer and technical knowledge, the ability to manage their own schedule and time, and the desire to train, encourage, and communicate with volunteers. The Technical Director will demonstrate humility and a willingness to come under the supervision of the Lead Pastor and Shepherds to support the mission of the church.

As Technical Director, you will:

● Oversee the existing technical ministry, including audio/visual aspects of worship services

● Support the Lead Pastor and current staff members in the overall ministry of the church

● Be responsible for recruiting, training, encouraging, and managing volunteers

● Troubleshoot and provide basic IT support for the church and manage software updates

● Attend regular staff meetings and consider how technical ministry can support other staff

● Plan ahead and always think about ways to improve the worship experience

● Be able to work from home and self-manage, as a majority of the work is done at home

● Maintain a strong internet presence for the church, including the website, app, and social media

Qualifications

● Possess an authentic testimony of faith and a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is evident in your lifestyle, both inside and outside the church

● Demonstrate a strong Biblical background and understanding of Scripture

● Have experience and giftedness in technical ministry, including audio/visual effects

● Good administration, organizational, technical, and communication skills

● Friendly, enthusiastic, outgoing, flexible approach to ministry

● Ability to manage social media pages and keep the website and app updated

● Be able to manage weekly volunteers and technical programming and plans

● Have a willingness to work Saturdays and Sundays
