Primary Function:
Complete management of all manufacturing operations at two adjoining plants, including production, design services, scheduling and training. The job includes all processes, procedures, personnel, material, overhead, labor relations. Lead plant operations with a strong emphasis on automation, robotics integration, lean manufacturing, and ISO audit readiness.
This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, margin improvement, and scalable systems across production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain. The ideal candidate is a hands-on strategic leader who can modernize manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.
Specific Responsibilities:
Serves as a member of the management team that determines overall company policies and business strategies.
Develops budgets and approves expenditures and staffing.
Ensures training is provided and completed in the latest product technologies, manufacturing techniques and health and safety requirements.
Lead implementation of automation initiatives (robotics, material handling systems, PLC integration).
Evaluate and deploy advanced manufacturing technologies to improve throughput and reduce labor dependency.
Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Designs product flow and plant layout to maximize efficiency.
Establish and maintain a production control for the purpose of ensuring the company’s total compliance with product specifications and customer requirements are met.
Complies with all Federal, Sate, and Local work, safety and environmental rules, laws and regulations in cooperation with the Engineering and EHS Manager. Maintains clean, and safe work environment.
Cooperates with the Technical Director to be certain that all production meets specifications and customer requirements and in the development of new products.
Maintain design services for the purpose of facilitating process documents, prototypes, first article approval parts and requirements, and filling small orders in a flexible and expeditious manner.
Develops and administers clearly defined objectives for each member of the manufacturing department.
Cooperates with the Financial Department to implement and operate a management information system to measure performance (Productivity and Costs).
Establish and maintain a system to develop information necessary for key performance indicators to control labor and material costs.
Works closely with Human Resource Department to resolve employee issues and aid in confirming labor laws are followed.
Responsible for replying to employee needs or discussions related to their concerns.
Enforce the CRF Rules and Regulations and Safety procedures.
Treat employee owners and customers with respect.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the President.
Qualifications
- 8+ years manufacturing leadership experience (Director or Senior Operations Manager level)
- Strong experience implementing automation and robotics in a production environment
- Proven ISO audit leadership (ISO 9001 preferred; other certifications a plus)
- Lean / Six Sigma certification strongly preferred
