Networking Engineer
Based out of our headquarters office in Pittsburgh, PA , our team is looking for a Networking Engineer to join our diverse team supporting network configuration. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, firewalls, routers and media converters.
- Design and implement network systems including both wired and wireless infrastructure, and multi-network systems.
- Provide support for network connectivity or related network issues.
- Analyze network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors. Recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network problems. As appropriate, research, analyze, and recommend the implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performance.
- Maintain proficiency with current networking technologies.
- Apply security techniques to ensure proper controls in access, logging, and auditing. Support developed network security guidelines and standards.
- Provide proposal support, project team support, iCenter support, and field service support related to networking.
- When needed, travel to customer sites to commission or troubleshoot network related equipment (up to 15% of the time).
- Create and maintain schedules with the understanding that several inputs/outputs may or may not be in your control.
- Gather technical equipment specifications from customer specification understanding of how best to implement a network configuration based on these inputs and Ovation standards.
- Possess the ability to work and lead within a team, as well as the listening skills necessary to receive instruction and direction. Possess the leadership to pass those directives to other colleagues to achieve a satisfied customer and high-quality product.
- Bachelor's degree in computer, electronics, electrical or software engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience configuring Cisco Networks.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% within the US.
- Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
- CCNP or CCNA certification
- Knowledge of Ovation networks and architecture.
- Familiarity with other DCS or PLC manufacturers.
- Experience working with Cisco devices.
