Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for a range of warehouse activities to ensure efficient operations including sorting, consolidating, picking, locating, receiving and shipping.

Essential Job Functions
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Sort, palletize, label with pallet id, and product SKU, shrink wrap, and store inventory in the designated areas.

· Pick, load and unload trucks efficiently and safely, ensuring accuracy in product handling.

· Verify quantities and inspect received inventory from stock warehouses or external vendors.

· Ensure all pallets are accurately marked with Pallet ID and product SKU

· Stock finished products in designated freezer or storage areas according to warehouse guidelines.

· Read and interpret order pick prints to pull orders accurately and efficiently.

· Properly wrap and secure orders to maintain product integrity throughout the distribution process.

· Inspect cases for damage and set aside damaged items in the designated area. Document all issues on the damage report sheet.

· Perform pre-use inspections of material-handling equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions to management.

· Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.

· Report any potential Food Safety issues to management immediately.

· Report any damage to company vehicles, equipment, and buildings via e-maintenance.

· Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

· Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Required Qualifications
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

· One year (1) of Finished Goods Warehouse experience required, cold storage preferred.

· One year (1) experience operating an electric an electric pallet jack, stand up forklift, and handheld scan device.

· Knowledge of inventory control and tracking.

· Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload, with a strong attention to detail.

· Outstanding communication skills.

· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to independently make decisions and self-motivated.

· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

· Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.

Physical Demands
The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

· Must be able to hear for forklift horns and dock alarms.

· Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed.

· Must be able to move 50 pounds alone and over 80 pounds with assistance occasionally.

· Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and machinery inside warehouse floor.

· Constant exposed to temperatures that are under freezing.

· Conditions of the production floor and warehouse maybe cold, wet, loud and PPE is required.

· Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles (including duck fluff), hazardous chemicals, and ammonia.

· Must be able use both hands for simple/firm grasping.

· Noise level may be loud at times.
