Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description
The Staff Accountant will train, learn, and perform various tasks within a general office environment. This position involves a range of responsibilities including cashier duties, banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll tracking, and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Process cash, check, and credit card transactions across Sales, Service, Parts, and Body Shop.
- Reconcile all collected payments.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Review purchase orders and secure manager authorization.
- Post vendor invoices to the general ledger.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Contact past-due accounts and update payment status in the system.
- Send accounts receivable reports to management with updated notes.
- Post new and used vehicle retail and wholesale sales to the general ledger.
- Maintain commission spreadsheets for biweekly payroll.
- Stock in new and used vehicle purchases into VMS and the general ledger.
- Proficiency in invoicing and accounts payable.
- Strong data entry and administrative support skills.
- Experience in processing payments and check processing.
- Accounting Degree
The position is based in an office environment with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The dress code is business casual. The staff accountant will be part of a small team, consisting of about three other people.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
