This role sits within a client-facing tax team supporting high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held business owners as part of a broader financial services environment. The position is responsible for delivering both compliance and planning support while working closely with advisory professionals to integrate tax strategy into overall financial outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax expertise along with the ability to build trusted client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, trusts, and small businesses.
• Provide year-round tax planning, projections, and advisory support for high-net-worth clients.
• Advise clients and internal stakeholders on tax implications, planning strategies, and regulatory updates.
• Partner with financial and wealth advisors to align tax strategies with broader financial and estate planning objectives.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for client tax-related questions and ongoing advisory needs.
• Monitor tax authority correspondence, including notices and inquiries, and assist in resolving issues.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all tax filings and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to improvements in tax processes, workflows, and technology utilization.
• Support internal collaboration to enhance overall client service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; advanced tax education preferred.
• Active CPA or Enrolled Agent certification required.
• 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting, private client services, or a similar advisory-focused environment.
• Strong technical expertise in individual, trust, and business taxation.
• Experience with tax planning related to investments, estates, and pass-through entities.
• Proficiency with professional tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills with a client-service mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team structure.
