Account Executive
Reporting to the VP of Regional Partnerships at SportsNet Pittsburgh (SNP), this position requires a team oriented, aggressive and creative sales professional adept at growing existing accounts, while developing new business utilizing SNP’s unique brand. This position actively manages the sales cycle including mining existing accounts for new opportunities, developing new relationships, negotiating contracts and closing business by expanding existing services, cross selling, and/or adding new services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accounts through all stages of the selling process, from prospecting through the close, and follow-up to ensure repeat sales activity
- Communicate efficiently with the VP and other partner departments throughout the sales process
- Research, identify and develop new prospects for both traditional, linear, and digital advertising
- Develop and present creative and effective proposals to customers for SNP
- Work as part of a sales team through consistent communication, sharing of ideas and industry information and active participation in team meetings
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of each account on AE's list, as well as to be able to recommend the appropriate schedule and budget to advertisers
- Review and work collection accounts before they move into 90 days
- Focus on generating new business and net direct business to the network
- Create and use promotions/marketing opportunities to generate incremental and new revenue
- Work cohesively with sales team, traffic and production to maximize revenues, following processes which are conducive to smooth workflow
- Keep accurate sales figures in SNP’s database (Wide Orbit) and log activities on prospect accounts and any other sales effort tracking in our CRM tool (Monday.com)
- May be required to service non-commissionable accounts including non-profit, trade accounts, charities and promotional accounts
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of the local and regional competition and media landscape
- Host events/Penguins and Pirates game nights on an as needed basis
- Travelling throughout the market to meet with current and prospective clients
- Stay abreast of industry trends through various sources
- Provide requested reports in a timely manner
- Successfully complete other related tasks and/or projects as needed

Qualifications:
- Must have 5+ years of advertising sales experience including digital, new media, cable advertising & television, and Sponsorship sales experience,
- Successful track record of creating, selling and executing unique multi-platform sponsorship programs to traditional and non-traditional advertisers,
- Knowledge of the local market and media is a strong plus
- Proven communication and presentation skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Wide Orbit and Monday.com helpful
- Strong understanding of TV terminology and digital, including Nielsen audience and digital measurements
- Valid driver’s license and dependable automobile
- Strong organizational skills necessary
- Strong work ethic, reliable and professional; success working in a team and fast-paced work environment
The expected salary for this position is $80,000 annually, plus commission. The final offer will be determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
