Hatch is looking for a Junior Construction Engineer in training to support ongoing projects in Gary, Indiana and various site locations around the USA.
Reporting to: Regional Manager, Construction, USA
Responsibilities:
Support site technical issues
Support Construction Planning Activities (ie. developing construction work packages, temporary facilities planning, constructability, supporting schedule development, etc.)
Review drawings for constructability and providing interpretation to craft and/or installation subcontractors
Monitor construction activities to ensure quality, project schedule adherence and compliance with drawings, and specifications and codes, through regular inspections
Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with the preparation of field material requisitions
Prepare punch lists
Attend subcontractor bid walks and assist in bid evaluation to support subcontract award
Maintain the highest level of safety awareness and ensure all tasks are completed to the highest safety standards
Qualifications:
Recent graduate or currently enrolled in an engineering, construction management, or similar technical program
In good academic standing
Extracurricular involvement, enthusiastic and ambitious
Self-motivated with good organizational capability
Excellent verbal and written communication
Demonstrated teamwork skills
Willingness to travel and work on various construction sites across the USA

Perform assignments related to your sector
Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
