Union Maintenance Mechanic
Join the CBRE team as a Union Maintenance Mechanic and become a key player in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's facilities! This is a mobile role, providing support across multiple sites in the Philadelphia, Wayne, Norristown, and Delaware areas. You'll be working directly with a major telecommunications client, contributing to their infrastructure's efficiency and reliability.
About the Role:
As a CBRE Union Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing general preventive maintenance and corrective repair for buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. This role is crucial to maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient environment for our client.
What You'll Do:

Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency directives, and company policies related to building operations and work safety.

Maintenance & Repair: Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, respond to emergencies, and execute preventive maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate and complete upkeep and repair records.

Work Order Management: Review assigned work orders, estimate time and material requirements, and order necessary supplies to complete tasks efficiently.

Installation & Modification: Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment systems.

Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair a variety of installed systems, including plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop equipment, and HVAC systems.

Inspection: Inspect new installations to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

Lighting Maintenance: Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility, including cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.

Groundskeeping: Maintain property grounds by performing tasks such as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, and snow removal.

Diverse Skill Set: Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.

Emergency Response: Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance when required.

Application of Knowledge: Demonstrate a working knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.

What You'll Need:

Education & Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience. A combination of experience and education will be considered.

Physical Requirements: Meet the physical demands of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to utilize existing procedures to effectively solve standard problems.

Analytical Skills: Experience with analyzing information and applying standard practices to make sound judgments.

Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Organizational Skills & Curiosity: Strong organizational skills and a naturally inquisitive mindset.

In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Experience working with the CMMS (work order management) system to update and complete work order status and preventive maintenance plans.

Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.

Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Ability to work some overtime a plus to support operations preventive maintenance activities and client projects.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training and experience. The salary range is $35 - $38 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience.
