Experienced Shuttle/Yard Jockeys needed (CDLA)

RJ Davis is hiring Experienced CDLA Shuttle/Jockey drivers for a manufacturing plant in the York area. Position requires 2 years of shuttle/jockey experience. We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Wednesday Night to Saturday Night-

Wednesday Night Hours are Midnight to 6a then Thurs-Friday-Saturday 6p to 6a with the opportunity for more hours!!!

Starting Salary will be $24/hr.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Yard jockey is responsive to the Driver Lead or Area Manager regarding the movement of containers to facilitate the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing material for shipment or storage or storage. Yard jockey is responsible for timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the plant needs.
• Operate DayCabs/Yard Truck in a safe manner during numerous moves involving loaded and empty trailers.
• Drive and operate vehicle under 15 mph in and around the yard and storage lot.
• Enter and exit back of the jockey truck while performing each move.
• Navigate narrow steps off and on the Jockey truck while performing each move.
• Attach and detach airlines and light cords before and after each move.
• Must function and interact on a daily basis with plant personnel and comply with plant safety requirements.
• Communicate with 2-way radio and hand-held computer with dispatch, operations and plant personnel.
• Crank trailer landing legs up and down.
• Opening and closing trailer doors.

Responsible for keeping accurate and neat records for payroll and DOT reports.
