Utility Technician Specialist Position Overview

The Utility Technician Specialist role is a vital support position within the Biomed Center that requires exceptional teamwork skills and flexibility. This position serves as a critical link in the biomedical device repair process by supporting technicians with parts management, device returns processing, and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing parts requisitions for biomedical technicians
• Picking and delivering parts orders accurately and promptly
• Processing device return authorizations to manufacturers
• Performing data entry tasks
• Cleaning devices (may require wearing PPE for protection against potentially infectious materials)
• Maintaining inventory accuracy
• Receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping supplies and equipment
• Ensuring work areas remain clean and safe

Work Schedule & Compensation

This position offers a flexible Monday-Friday schedule with two options:

• 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

The compensation range is budgeted between $19.00 - $21.50 per hour.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 3+ years of related experience
• Strong decision-making and time management skills
• Professional communication abilities for interacting with manufacturers and customers
• Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
• Physical capability to lift 50+ pounds
• Commitment to McKesson i2Care and iLead principles

Preferred:

• Prior experience in data entry and order fulfillment
• Forklift certification may be required

Work Environment

The position operates in a fast-paced warehouse/biomedical center environment that requires:

• Teamwork and cooperation
• Flexibility to assist with various Biomed Center demands
• Comfort wearing personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, gowns)
• Focus on meeting individual and department productivity goals
• Adherence to SOPs and work instructions
