Master Automotive Technician – Level A (General Motors Experience Required)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Level A Automotive Technician with proven experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining General Motors (GM) vehicles. This role is ideal for a top-performing technician who can handle complex repairs, work independently, and deliver high-quality service.

Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on GM vehicles, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, drivability issues, and onboard technology

• Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs following GM standards and procedures

• Use GM diagnostic tools, software, and technical resources (GDS2, SPS, SI, etc.)

• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and identify needed maintenance or repairs

• Work efficiently to meet productivity and quality targets

• Maintain accurate documentation of repair work, parts used, and findings

• Communicate clearly with service advisors and team members regarding repair status

• Ensure all work meets safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications

• Mentor junior technicians as needed

Requirements:

• 5+ years automotive technician experience, including substantial GM-specific work

• Mastery of GM systems, components, and diagnostics

• ASE certifications preferred (L1, A1-A8 a strong plus)

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex repairs independently

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Own a complete set of professional tools

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various shop conditions

Preferred:

• GM-specific certifications (e.g., GM STC training)

• Experience with hybrid/electric GM vehicles

• Strong customer service and communication skills
