About the Role:
The Facilities Maintenance position is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems and infrastructure within our organization. This role involves performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural components of the facility. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a comfortable and secure environment for all employees, visitors, and tenants by addressing maintenance issues proactively and responding swiftly to emergencies. This position requires collaboration with various departments and external vendors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Ultimately, the Facilities Maintenance professional plays a key role in preserving the value and functionality of the physical assets, supporting uninterrupted business operations across our United States locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, building systems repair, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with energy management systems and sustainable building practices.
- First aid and OSHA safety certification.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills demonstrated in a facilities environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose and repair facility equipment and infrastructure issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, upgrades, and inspections as needed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot problems to restore services quickly and safely.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and environmental standards.
- Assist in facility improvement projects by providing technical expertise and hands-on support.
Skills:
The required skills enable the Facilities Maintenance professional to perform hands-on repairs and preventive maintenance effectively, ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently. Technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems is applied daily to diagnose issues and implement solutions that minimize operational disruptions. Communication and coordination skills are essential for working with internal teams and external vendors to schedule maintenance and complete projects on time. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards ensures that all work is performed in a manner that protects personnel and property. Preferred skills such as experience with CMMS and energy management systems enhance the ability to track maintenance activities, optimize resource use, and contribute to sustainability initiatives within the facility.
