Business Development Manager, Northeast USA

We are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to join our team! Reporting to the VP Travel Trade Sales, you’ll play a key role in growing revenue by building strong, productive relationships with travel agencies and advisors. This role leads engagement efforts across a multi‑state territory, driving high‑quality leads and supporting overall sales goals.
Territory: NJ, PA, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME, MD, VA, DC, KY, WV
Primary Focus: NJ, NY, PA, VA

What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement a territory‑specific sales plan aligned with lead‑generation and growth goals.
- Prioritize agencies and advisors based on strategic opportunity and performance potential.
- Maintain and update territory and sales plans as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for agencies and advisors in the territory.
- Strengthen existing relationships to increase engagement and performance.
- Identify, qualify, and grow new agency and advisor partnerships, with emphasis on preferred consortia and host‑agency networks.
- Increase advisor engagement and lead generation to support revenue targets.
- Collaborate with Groups and FIT teams to maximize opportunities and expand market reach.
- Contribute to creating sales collateral, presentations, webinars, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
- Maintain accurate advisor and agency data to support targeted communications.
- Use HubSpot to manage interactions, track pipeline activity, and support internal alignment.
- Represent the company at regional and national trade shows, sales events, and FAM trips.
- Coordinate travel logistics, event preparation, and post‑event follow‑up.
- Support timely resolution of customer service escalations and provide clear feedback to leadership.
- Ensure advisor concerns are addressed promptly to strengthen satisfaction and retention.
- Monitor territory performance using KPIs and HubSpot reporting tools.
- Deliver regular updates on performance, market trends, and insights.
- Document BDM activities in the CRM.
- Partner with Groups, FIT, and other internal teams to ensure seamless sales execution.
- Work closely with Marketing to align on engagement strategies and campaigns.
- Manage travel and discretionary marketing budgets responsibly.
- Complete expense reports and trip documentation on schedule.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in the travel industry.
- Demonstrated success managing travel agency accounts across a multi‑state territory.
- Strong track record of driving demand and revenue through strategic partnerships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Collaborative approach with experience working cross‑functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car.
- Ability to travel 50%+ domestically, with occasional international travel.
Preferred
- Existing relationships with host‑agency advisors and agency leadership.
- Knowledge of the Europe leisure travel market.
- Experience with HubSpot and AI tools that support sales efficiency.
- Comfort using social media and virtual platforms for engagement.
