Café Team Member - Full Time

Fallingwater, a property entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and designated as a National Historic Landmark and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is seeking a full-time Café Team Member to provide excellent customer service by waiting on customers, help in the preparation and presentation of food and maintain a clean and stocked facility.

Job Duties

• Ensures proper set up and follows open procedures of the café.
• Sets up pastry display.
• Preps, cooks and plates items for Café service to specification; may occasionally assist in other culinary functions as needed.
• Takes customer orders, assists in preparation, and serves their food/beverage items, while providing an exceptional visitor experience.
• Operates the sales register paying careful attention to accurate cash handling responsibilities and procedures.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and monitoring shortages.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and sanitized work area, follows proper food handling procedures, takes measures to avoid contamination, and supports the highest quality of health and safety standards.
• Assists the Sous Chef or Executive Chef as needed.
• Supports the Conservancy’s cost containment and fundraising efforts and needs, as applicable.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

• Must be able to stand up to 8 hours
• Must be able to bend, move, and lift up to 40lbs
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment, appliances, and tools – including knives, slicers, and ovens.
• Frequent bending and stooping
• Work in a hot environment, sometimes with with/near open flame

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with food preparation and cooking.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Some experience handling cash and performing sales transactions preferred
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays and be flexible with schedule and hours.
• To be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Position Duration

This is a full-time hourly, seasonal position with benefits.

Pay

Pay range: $17.26-$19.28 per hour
