Certified Crematory Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Crematory Operator to join our compassionate team. Responsibilities

• Operate cremation equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all industry standards and safety protocols
• Prepare and set up cremation chambers, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance of industrial equipment
• Handle remains with respect, following proper procedures for identification, documentation, and transfer
• Conduct heavy lifting of caskets, remains containers, and related materials while maintaining safety standards
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on crematory machinery to ensure optimal performance
• Document all cremation processes accurately, including start and end times, identification details, and any anomalies
• Collaborate with funeral directing staff to coordinate the timely and respectful handling of remains

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical knowledge with experience operating industrial equipment or similar machinery
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily responsibilities
• Prior experience or training in funeral directing is a strong plus but not mandatory
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to follow strict safety procedures and maintain professionalism at all times
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in mechanical systems is preferred
