Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring ACLS and BLS certifications, with a rotating day/night shift schedule.

Details

• ICU setting within a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Rotating day and night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week (days: 7:00–19:30; nights: 19:00–7:30)
• Floating required within the hospital and potentially to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Required certifications (AHA only): ACLS, BLS; NIHSS preferred
• Core IV and line management skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management
• Respiratory skills required: care of ventilated patients, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, suctioning (ETT/NT), respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism management
• Cardiac skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, 12-lead EKG/ECG, CVP monitoring, epicardial pacing wire care, pre/post cardiac cath
• Medication skills required: continuous IV sedation, continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, emergency medications, IV insulin protocols, procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Neurological skills required: CVA/acute stroke management
• Renal skills required: chronic/acute renal failure management
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• CVICU, MICU, or SICU experience preferred
• Advanced cardiac skills preferred: ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, CVVHD/CRRT, post cardiac surgery (direct from OR)
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply; travel experience is not required
• Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees of this facility are not eligible for this position
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Two supervisor references (within the past 2 years) preferred
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24–48 hours of signing
• Pre-start modules (approximately 1 hour) must be completed before entering the facility
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need; same schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Background concerns should be disclosed prior to consideration for client review
