Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for owning, evaluating, and optimizing current processes to drive production efficiencies. The Engineer will evaluate and implement new processes for new product introduction and be responsible for capital recommendations and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product, materials, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; research, design, modify, and test manufacturing methods and equipment; confer with equipment vendors.
- Develop solutions to production issues that reduce costs, increase throughput, and improve quality, environment, and safety
- Analyze work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Interact with Engineering concerning product design, manufacturing processes, and equipment to ensure efficient production methods
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
- Plan, define, and implement new manufacturing systems as needed for new product introductions
- Confers with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Maintain factory uptime through day-to-day problem solving, with the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks autonomously
- Actively support all lean manufacturing implementation efforts
- Adhere to New Pig's Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards

Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or 5 years related experience. Equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (5S, SW, PSP, SMED, VRK, OEE, TPM, etc.)
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- Willing to work a flexible schedule as needed along with periodic travel
