Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Engineer opening for our client in Philadelphia, PA.

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Duration: 12 months

Duties:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Airflow

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver reliable data solutions

• Develop and maintain data models, data lakes, and data warehouse infrastructure in AWS

• Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure accuracy and integrity

• Optimize data systems and ensure the infrastructure supports business analytics and reporting needs

• Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis on data-related problems

Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation and pipeline development

• Advanced SQL skills for querying, transforming, and optimizing large datasets

• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for orchestration of workflows

• Solid understanding of AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, and Athena

• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git), CI/CD practices, and containerization (Docker)

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Engineering or similar role

• Proven experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale datasets

• Prior experience working in cloud-based data environments (preferably AWS)

• Experience working in Agile teams and using tools such as Jira or Confluence

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field
