SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to provide the first positive interaction with the public, to manage the front desk and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required as assigned. 

• Receives and greets visitors and directs them to the proper party. 

• Answers questions from callers or visitors of a routine or general nature. 

• Obtains preliminary information from applicants for housing assistance programs. 

• Operates telecommunications system by following manufacturer’s instructions for house phone and console operation.  

• Competes basic word-processing as well as inputs data into housing software system. 

• Assists in processing outgoing mail, as needed. 

• Keeps a safe and clean reception area. 

• Performs other duties, as assigned. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent 

• No experience required 

TECHNICAL SKILLS: 

• Bilingual (Spanish)
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) 

• Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   

• Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching and grasping; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the properties;  

• Attending onsite meetings and offsite meetings.  

• The employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone. 

• The employee must occasionally transport up to 25 pounds.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

• Office environment

• May experience a range in temperatures and other weather conditions.
