Talula's Table is seeking an experienced, creative, and passionate Executive Chef / Head Chef to lead our culinary program. Located in the heart of historic Kennett Square, approximately one hour southwest of Philadelphia, Talula's Table is a unique culinary destination that evolves throughout the day, from a vibrant gourmet market and café to one of the region's most sought-after dining experiences. Each evening, guests gather for an intimate seasonal tasting menu built around the finest local ingredients and thoughtful hospitality. The Executive Chef will help lead all culinary operations, including the market kitchen, catering program, and nightly tasting menu experience. This role will oversee dinner service while fostering a culture of creativity, leadership, exceptional hospitality, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
We are looking for a chef who is equal parts leader, mentor and culinary professional, who thrives in a collaborative environment, communicates effectively, inspires those around them and brings both creativity and consistency to the kitchen every day.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations with a hands-on, service-driven approach
- Develop and execute seasonal menus showcasing local, high-quality ingredients
- Lead nightly dinner service, ensuring exceptional execution, consistency and guest satisfaction
- Create seasonal tasting and specialty menus
- Manage food costs, purchasing, inventory and vendor relationships
- Build, train, mentor and motivate a small, dedicated culinary team
- Foster a positive, respectful and collaborative kitchen culture
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, organization and safety
- Work closely with the owner and management to support the overall vision and success of the restaurant
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of culinary leadership experience as an Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, or similar role in a high-end, chef-driven or fine dining environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to teach, inspire and develop a team
- A creative approach to menu development and a passion for seasonal cooking
- Experience working with locally sourced ingredients and building relationships with producers
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated, dependable and capable of leading by example
- Ability to remain calm, focused and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
- Catering, private dining and custom menu development experience is a plus
Schedule Requirements
This is a full-time leadership position requiring flexibility and active participation in service. Evening, weekend and holiday availability is required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $65,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience
