DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This Accountant 2 role is responsible for fiscal oversight and management of the Health Choices program. Health Choices is a state program that provides medical assistance to eligible persons, behavioral health services through a full risk, prepaid capitated mandated managed care program.

Your general responsibilities will include:

Planning and administering the budget

Accounting for program transactions Monitoring revenue and expenditures Preparing and distributing internal and external financial reports Maintaining contract with the state, county and provider personnel as required Providing a financial support function to the program office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Accountant I; or Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting. Four years of bookkeeping experience and 18 college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.

Legal Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
