We are seeking a skilled and dependable Lead HVAC/R & Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of our property and equipment.
This is a hands-on position for someone with strong HVAC/R experience who also has solid knowledge of general building maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate is reliable, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in maintaining a busy, fast-paced hospitality property.
Position SummaryThe Lead HVAC/R & Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the Inn’s HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen, and building systems. This role focuses heavily on HVAC/R and mechanical systems while also supporting general facility maintenance needs throughout the property.
The right candidate will be experienced in diagnosing issues, responding quickly to operational needs, and performing preventative maintenance to keep the facility running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC/R equipment, coolers, freezers, and mechanical systems
- Diagnose and repair general building maintenance issues including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and minor mechanical repairs
- Maintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment and dish machines
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests throughout restaurant, banquet, kitchen, and guest areas
- Monitor building systems and identify potential maintenance or safety concerns
- Assist with seasonal property maintenance including exterior upkeep and snow removal coordination
- Support event operations and facility needs during weddings and large functions
- Maintain organized maintenance workspaces, inventory, tools, and supplies
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessary
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations
Experience in any of the following environments is strongly preferred:
- Hotels or hospitality properties
- Restaurants or banquet facilities
- Commercial kitchens
- Country clubs
- Hospitals or healthcare facilities
- Large commercial buildings
- 5+ years of HVAC/R and building maintenance experience preferred
- HVAC Certification strongly preferred
- Experience working with commercial refrigeration systems and kitchen equipment
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repair
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work including climbing, bending, standing, and working outdoors
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call coverage
