Lactation Consultant

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Assignment: Contract with possibility of extension or conversion based on business needs
Worksite: 4 days per week at Main Campus and 1 day per week at King of Prussia Campus

Compensation: $45/ HR

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lactation Consultant to provide clinical lactation services and support to patients, families, clinical teams, and the community. The Lactation Consultant will serve as the subject matter expert for lactation, breastfeeding, pumping, and human milk management.

Key Responsibilities

Provide evidence-based lactation support and patient care services.

Respond to lactation consults according to departmental standards.

Assess, educate, and support patients and families with breastfeeding and pumping techniques.

Implement and monitor interventions related to breastfeeding, pumping, and human milk management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a similar field of study.

Minimum of 1 year of licensed clinical experience required; 2 years strongly preferred .

Minimum of 1 year of inpatient hospital experience required.

Experience in pediatric medical-based settings required.

Inpatient and outpatient experience required.

Previous NICU, pediatric, or critical care experience preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications

IBCLC certification is mandatory for all candidates.

Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association is required within 6 months of hire.

Candidates must also hold one of the following active Pennsylvania licenses or certifications:

Registered Nurse (RN)

Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN)

Occupational Therapist (OT)

Licensed Physical Therapist (PT)

Respiratory Therapist

Osteopathic Respiratory Therapist

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
