Fleet Asset Manager

Asset Tracking & Inventory Management

• Maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date inventory of all equipment including trucks, wheel loaders, skid steers, and other heavy machinery 
• Track asset location, utilization rates, and deployment across job sites or facilities 
• Manage asset tagging, registration, titling, and documentation 

Maintenance & Lifecycle Management

• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime and longevity 
• Coordinate with mechanics and service vendors to ensure timely repairs and inspections 
• Monitor equipment condition and make recommendations for overhaul, refurbishment, or retirement 
• Manage end-of-life decisions including equipment disposal, resale, or trade-in 

Procurement & Disposal

• Evaluate and recommend equipment purchases, leases, or rentals based on operational needs and cost-benefit analysis 
• Source and negotiate with dealers, vendors, and auction houses for acquisitions and disposals 
• Manage equipment financing agreements, lease terms, and warranties 

Cost Management & Reporting

• Track and report on total cost of ownership (TCO) for each asset, including fuel, maintenance, depreciation, and insurance 
• Develop and manage the equipment budget, identifying opportunities to reduce costs 
• Provide regular asset performance and utilization reports to leadership 

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all equipment meets regulatory, safety, and emissions standards (DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.) 
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and compliance documentation 
• Coordinate operator training and certification requirements where applicable 

Operational Coordination

• Work closely with operations, project managers, and field supervisors to align equipment availability with project demands 
• Manage equipment scheduling and deployment to minimize idle time and maximize utilization 
• Serve as the point of contact between the field and vendors/service providers 

Strategic Planning

• Forecast future equipment needs based on project pipelines and business growth
• Develop fleet replacement strategies and long-term capital expenditure plans
• Identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency through technology (telematics, GPS tracking, etc.)
