Inventory Control and Materials Coordinator
Job Description
Job Description
About the Role
Picture the start of your shift: you review inbound receipts, reconcile a few line items in the system, and make a quick call to a supplier about a packing slip discrepancy. A production lead pings you for a rush allocation tied to a recent engineering change (CN), and you update inventory accordingly. By mid-morning, you’re performing a cycle count, adjusting an ISL (Inventory Stock Location), and moving stock to point-of-use with a stand-up or sit-down truck. Every step you take keeps material flowing smoothly to our internal and external customers.
What You’ll Do- Keep inventory records precise with timely, accurate system entries.
- Dig into count variances and system issues; resolve root causes and prevent repeats.
- Troubleshoot and correct receiving errors before they impact production.
- Watch stock levels and act proactively to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Support engineering changes by adjusting allocations and on-hand balances (CN maintenance).
- Partner daily with production teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to provide responsive service.
- Advance corporate material initiatives: perform cycle counts, manage ISL master data, track bin consumption, and contribute to process improvements.
Note: Responsibilities may evolve; additional duties can be assigned as business needs change.
QualificationsMinimum- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Willing and able to work overtime as needed (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) to meet production timelines.
- Consistent, reliable on-site attendance.
- Clear, professional communication on the phone and in person; strong interpersonal skills.
- Solid business judgment and situational awareness.
- 6 months–2 years of general office experience.
- Ability to pass the internal Powered Industrial Equipment licensing and safely operate equipment in the facility (e.g., stand-up and sit-down).
- Manufacturing/production setting with potential exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, and temperature changes.
- Extended standing, repetitive movements, lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs and up to 30 lbs sustained; bending, kneeling, climbing, and regular tool/equipment use.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Visual and auditory sharpness necessary for safe equipment use and clear communication.
Reasonable accommodations will be considered for qualified individuals with disabilities to ensure access to all essential job functions.
