Dauphin County Technical School (DCTS) is seeking a passionate, student-centered High School Spanish Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will bring energy, cultural competency, and a strong command of world language instructional strategies to engage diverse learners in a career and technical education environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field
• Valid PA Instructional I or II Certificate in Spanish K-12
• Proficiency in Spanish (oral and written)
• Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
• Commitment to creating a student-centered, inclusive learning environment

Preferred:

• Experience teaching in a CTE or vocational setting
• Knowledge of ACTFL standards and proficiency-based instruction
• Experience with curriculum development or bilingual education
• Familiarity with integrating technology in the classroom
• Experience with restorative practices and trauma-informed teaching strategies

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging Spanish I and II instruction aligned to Pennsylvania Academic Standards
• Integrate language instruction with career-focused content across various CTE programs
• Plan and implement lessons that promote language acquisition, cultural awareness, and communication skills
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support interdisciplinary learning
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies and state requirements
• Participate in professional development and school activities as required
