Reports to: Head of FP&A

Purpose

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, the Manager, Commercial Operations and Finance supports the Business Development team on all things finance and data, including pipeline/sales funnel management and analytics, lead and data management and reporting, bid creation and submission, new deal modeling, assessment of new deal performance after implementation as well as additional financial and analytical projects related to our commercial organization.

As a hands-on and collaborative team player, this role requires strong business acumen and data analytics skills, a strong sense of ownership and urgency, and a demonstrated work ethic. A proven track record in revenue/sales operations and commercial finance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and optimizes sales funnel data management, analytics, and reporting (currently using HubSpot), including, but not limited to:
  • Monitors, manages, and optimizes opportunity movement through the sales funnel from lead creation to opportunity close.
    • Builds and maintains dashboards and reporting for the Business Development and Executive Leadership teams to provide better visibility into funnel performance, expected results, anticipated financials of opportunities (including cost/staffing considerations) and relevant KPIs (sales cycle, stage duration, win rates, lead segmentation, cohort analysis, etc.).
    • Leverages data to proactively provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve lead generation and conversion and spend ROI.
    • Determines and maintains funnel stages and win probabilities to support financial projections.
    • Assesses current product P&Ls and leverages learnings to improve model accuracy.
    • Ensures client interactions are captured and logged accurately and appropriately.
    • Supports Business Development leaders with lead segmentation and optimal lead / account assignment.
    • Recommends and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Works with Finance, Business Development, and Marketing to drive sales planning and forecasting, including setting top-of-funnel targets that are appropriate to achieve the company’s growth goals based on its annual and long-range plan; supports the team to deliver on such targets.
  • Builds and maintains new-win revenue and gross profit forecasts based on the company’s sales funnel and works to improve such forecasts over time based on retrospective analysis comparing prior forecasts vs. their actual performance.
  • Generates on-time, monthly, and quarterly deliverables for reporting packages, operating reviews and board meetings with rigorous data quality control and relevant commentary.
  • Creates, maintains, and improves tools to support Business Development with bid preparation and optimization as well as manufacturer negotiations.
  • Supports FMV (Fair Market Value) analysis and assessment.
  • Oversees systems and data administration, and recommends tools to improve data quality, analysis, and reporting.
  • Effectively aligns individual projects with broader organizational objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in sales/revenue operations, marketing analytics, commercial finance, and/or sales management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to drive results through analytical insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborative team player with the capacity to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong ability to translate complex strategic concepts into actionable and practical plans.
  • Proven ability to extract insights from working with large, imperfect, data sets.
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks and build trust and confidence across functional groups of stakeholders.
  • Possesses a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • A proactive communicator who shares timely information and escalates potential issues or risks.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with great attention to detail, reliable sense of accountability and ability to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence, willing to go the extra mile to achieve objectives and ensure consistently high-quality work product.
  • Advanced Excel and data visualization skills.
  • Familiarity with sales and marketing tools, such as customer relationship management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HubSpot.
  • Pharma, healthcare or pharmacy experience preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates in a home or professional office environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
