The Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties (CPARC) is seeking a Director of Advocacy to lead our Advocacy and Family Education programs. This position works directly with individuals, families, community groups, and the general public to advance education, influence legislation, and raise awareness of the rights of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The Director of Advocacy serves as the voice of advocacy within CPARC and represents the agency's mission: to provide support, training, and opportunities to people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

• Lead and supervise the Advocacy and Family Education department .

• Act as an advocate for people with intellectual disabilities in areas such as education, employment, treatment, and community living .

• Develop and manage the department's budget.

• Identify systemic barriers and work with agencies to create solutions.

• Build strong relationships with local, state, and federal legislators to promote policy that advances rights and inclusion.

• Oversee and deliver seminars, trainings, and family education programs .

• Promote self-advocacy skills for individuals and families through education and legislative involvement.

• Monitor educational and program services to ensure rights are respected and upheld.

• Provide outreach and advocacy across Cumberland and Perry Counties .

• Lead the agency's Quality Improvement Committee and manage compliance with United Way and DHS standards.

• Increase public awareness through community events, speaking engagements, and Intellectual Disabilities Awareness Month activities .

• Support CPARC's Education and Community Advocacy Committee and other agency initiatives.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in the field of intellectual disabilities.
• Knowledge of Cumberland and Perry County Human Services Systems is required.
• Must possess excellent communications skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Annual Salary: $62,351.00
