CNC Machinist

As a CNC Machinist at Kurt J. Lesker Company , you’ll manufacture precision , engineered‑to‑order components where accuracy, craftsmanship , and problem‑solving matter. In this hands‑on role, you’ll set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines , machining complex metallic and non‑metallic parts to tight tolerances .

This position is ideal for an experienced CNC Machinist who enjoys challenging work, collaborating with engineering, and producing high‑quality custom parts in a low‑volume, high‑mix manufacturing environment .

Job Details:

• Shift: 1st, 2nd & 3rd (Monday - Friday)
• Type of Employment: Full-time
• Location: Jefferson Hills, PA
• Division/Department: Manufacturing /Machine Shop
• Reports to: CNC Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complex machining operations on CNC milling machines (vertical and horizontal)
• Read, understand, and troubleshoot G‑code
• Mentor and support other machinists in resolving complex machining challenges
• Apply extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Produce quality parts efficiently while meeting production schedules
• Verify conformance of finished parts using precision measuring instruments
• Collaborate with Machinists, Engineers, and Project Managers to solve problems and improve processes
• Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and shop standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required :

• 4 + years of CNC machining experience in a machine shop environment
  OR completion of Journeyman papers plus 2 years of experience
• Advanced knowledge of CNC machining techniques and milling practices
• Strong machinist math skills, including trigonometry and geometry
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and GD&T
• Proficient with precision measuring tools
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted
• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

• Experience with 3+2 axis machining
• Experience using Mastercam
• CNC programming experience or capability
• Associate’s degree in a related technical field
