Position: Shop & Equipment Manager (Landscaping Operations)

We are hiring a Shop & Equipment Manager to take full ownership of our landscaping shop, tools, and equipment.

This role is simple to define but hard to execute:

Everything is organized, equipment runs properly, and crews are never slowed down because of the shop.

You will be given minimal day-to-day direction . If you need constant oversight, this is not the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the organization and layout of the shop (tools, equipment, materials)
• Maintain all equipment (mowers, trucks, trailers, small engines, etc.)
• Prevent breakdowns through routine maintenance and inspections
• Identify and fix issues before they become costly problems
• Keep track of equipment condition and maintenance needs
• Ensure crews have what they need, when they need it—no delays
• Coordinate outside repairs when necessary

What Success Looks Like:

• Equipment starts and runs every day
• Shop is clean, organized, and efficient
• Minimal downtime and fewer costly repairs
• Crews are never waiting on tools or equipment

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical aptitude (landscaping equipment required)
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Self-starter who takes ownership without being told
• Problem solver who handles issues before they escalate
• High standards—average performance will not last

Compensation:

• Pay based on experience and performance
• Higher pay available for candidates who bring and use their own tools
• Full-time, year-round position

REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Skill:

• Minimum 3–5 years hands-on experience maintaining small engines, trucks, and trailers
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems (not just fixing things when they break)
• Ability to diagnose issues quickly and correctly —no guessing and throwing parts at problems
• Experience with hydraulics, electrical, and small engine repair
