Senior Project Architect

Project Architect / Project Manager – Center City Philadelphia
A well-established architecture practice in Center City Philadelphia is seeking a highly experienced Project Architect / Project Manager to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a design-focused, technically strong professional with deep experience leading residential and commercial projects from concept through construction.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing multiple active projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, and educational sectors. This individual should be confident coordinating across consultants, contractors, and clients while ensuring design intent, code compliance, and constructability are maintained throughout all phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural projects from schematic design through construction administration
- Coordinate construction documents with consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Perform zoning analysis, building code review, and site planning
- Review submittals, drawings, and specifications for compliance and constructability
- Oversee multiple project types including residential, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, and institutional work
- Conduct site visits and evaluate field conditions
- Ensure high-quality documentation and design execution across all phases
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent degree required
- Registered Architect in PA and/or NJ preferred
- 10+ years of progressive architectural experience
- Strong background in residential and commercial project delivery
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other design/documentation tools
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methods
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
Technical Skills
- Revit Architecture, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD
- Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Photoshop
- Strong drafting, detailing, and building technology knowledge
- Experience with multi-family, mixed-use, hospitality, and institutional projects
Project Experience Includes
- Multi-family residential (townhomes, condos, apartments)
- Mixed-use developments
- Hospitality projects (hotels, extended stay)
- Educational facilities and renovations
- Commercial retail and office fit-outs
- Retirement and senior living communities
